Opioid Overdose and Naloxone/Narcan Training

On Long Island, the use of prescription drugs or heroin led to the deaths of about 600 people in 2017 alone. There is a nationwide opioid epidemic. How can Long Island unions and community come together to address this public health crisis?

At this session, participants will discuss the extent of this public health emergency, learn how to recognize an opioid overdose, and learn to administer Naloxone safely. Naloxone can reverse the fatal effects of an opioid overdose and save the life of a co-worker, neighbor, or friend.
